Pancreatic surgery is considered the most challenging and advanced subspecialty of medicine. The fact that pancreatic surgeons are, in most cases, directors of the most prominent academic hospitals in the United States is no coincidence. In the past decade, it has become evident that treating pancreatic diseases requires not only the help of an “experienced surgeon” but specialized, credentialed, and thorough knowledge. This has led to the creation and establishment of Referral Centers (Centers of Excellence) in the United States. Referral Centers implement the most advanced surgical methods while educating the public and primary care physicians on the importance of timely cancer diagnosis and the significance of choosing and implementing appropriate diagnostic, invasive, and therapeutic methods that ensure prompt, effective, and complication-free treatment.
We aspire to turn this website into an ever-expanding portal that offers reliable, current, and precise information on pancreatic diseases and surgery based on the latest scientific developments. Our website will allow you to learn more about all our research projects that actively generate scientific knowledge and streamline the treatment of pancreatic conditions and cancer.
Our long-standing experience in all international pancreatic surgery fora, along with our advanced level of clinical practice, as seen in our ongoing international publications over the last three decades, is a solid foundation that will allow us to make the Hellenic Pancreas Institute a scientific institution of reference for pancreas in Greece and abroad. Our openness and ongoing collaboration with the largest pancreatic centers in the United States and Europe give us the impetus to grow further. We want to become a meeting point that favors constructive exchange and fruitful dialogue among like-minded scientists, researchers, and international academics, who share our ideals and goals.
Yours sincerely,
